This summer the Republican Party is coming home, home to its roots in Ashtabula County Ohio. Ashtabula County is home to one of the founders of the Republican Party, Joshua Giddings. Joshua wrote one of the founding planks in the initial platform of the Republican Party. His original office still stands in Gidding’s Park along with the very desk he wrote the party plank on.
