Enjoy inspiring art and thought-provoking architecture at the Akron Art Museum. Recently re-designed by renowned Austrian firm COOP HIMMELB(L)AU, the facility, described by critics as a work of art itself, integrates a new soaring glass and steel structure with the museum's previous 19th-century Renaissance revival building, originally constructed as the City's post office. The dramatic expansion has received worldwide media attention and architectural acclaim.
The seven galleries showcase the museum's collection of modern and contemporary art, which includes paintings, sculptures, photographs, and works on paper dating back to 1850, as well as special traveling exhibitions.
